Introspective Series
A foundation of self awareness can shift perspective. Despite modern cultural assumptions that personal strength is found through independence and a separatist mindset, real strength is found through relationships and interconnection. Human beings are hardwired to connect with other living organisms on multiple levels.
This series explores patterns found in the natural world conveyed through imagery alight with the intersection of line and colour. I am interested in elevating the unnoticed and undervalued, such as the beauty of a dandelion gone to seed or the spiral of a snail’s shell.
I highlighted asymmetry and imperfections to draw a parallel to the human experience. When attention is aligned with the intelligence of the natural world, inner security, peace and contentment can be inspired. My goal through these works is to create the pause, much like a deep breath in order to encourage a subconscious and reflective process to evolve and to blur the boundaries between art and science.
